Join us as WAAPA’s talented Jazz students celebrate the rich legacy and vibrant future of Australian jazz in a dynamic double bill. The WAAPA Australian Jazz Repertoire Ensemble will deliver bold instrumental performances of works by iconic composers such as Mike Nock, Andrea Keller, Judy Bailey, Stu Hunter and Dale Barlow. The spotlight then shifts to WAAPA’s Jazz Vocal Ensemble, showcasing the artistry of Australia’s leading jazz singer-composers. Featuring music by Katie Noonan, Kristin Berardi, Michelle Nicolle and Gian Slater, this set will traverse ethereal ballads, rhythmically adventurous compositions, and improvised vocals. Both ensembles will then join forces for a sensational bring-the-house-down finale showcasing the incredible talent thriving within WAAPA’s Jazz program.
