In this practical session, Schneider will work with the WAAPA Big band in a live rehearsal, sharing her approach to ensemble communication, balance, interpretation, rehearsing, and developing a cohesive big band sound. Drawing on decades of experience leading the Maria Schneider Orchestra and guest conducting ensembles around the world, she will offer insights relevant to educators, conductors, composers, arrangers and performers.
